A most economical tilting furnace in sizes ideal for the small foundry, vocational or educational facility, and the precious metal melter or reclaimer. These center pivot models pivot at their center of gravity for easy tilting by a worm/worm gear drive. The manual tilt is operated with a hand wheel. Mifco is building larger, tilting, crucible or cast iron pot melters that can produce fast, economical melts of non-ferrous metals. Currently available are the models T-600, T-1000. The T-1000 has a capacity of 1000 lbs. of aluminum and 2400 lbs. of brass or bronze. The T-1000 can produce economical melts in as little as 70 minutes for aluminum and approximately 2-1/2 hours for brass, from a cold start. All are lined with the same high alumina, pre-fired refractory bricks that all our melters feature, for long life and resistance to flaking and spalling. All units feature hydraulic tilting and a hydraulic lid lift as well. These models are also available with temperature control and can be fitted for recuperative burner systems for additional savings in fuel consumption.
