The Northfield line of woodworking machinery was established in Northfield, Minnesota, in 1920. Steady growth occurred through the years as the Northfield line became the leader of intermediate and heavy duty woodworking machinery. The Northfield line was the first to adapt hydraulics to woodworking machinery.
The Northfield line of woodworking machinery is currently owned and operated by Northfield Machinery Builders Inc., a diversified manufacturer of custom machinery. Northfield woodworking machinery is made available from distributors throughout North America and other world markets.
For the more basic needs, Northfield Production Shapers are constructed with rugged iron castings and balanced rotating components to assure vibration free performance. Spindles are available to 1-1/2" diameter and up to 8" in length. TEFC motors to 15 hp can be provided. For a wide table Shaper in a high production shop, Northfield Heavy Duty Shapers are constructed with rugged iron castings and balanced rotating components to assure vibration free performance. The 44" x 72" table provides room for mounting feeders and gives full support for large jigs and fixtures. Spindles are available to 1-1/2" diameter and up to 8" in length. TEFC motors to 15 hp can be provided. Under table dust outlet improves dust & chip extraction.
